There have been so very many misconceptions regarding this night. And I was thinking of how to start this page. And I thought that a good way would be to show how Pagan days had been assimilated into the modern day calendar as most of the civilized world has come to know it. So here I go..Christmas was the Winter Solstice Easter was Ostara (the spring Equinox) Halloween was Samhain Valentines Day was Imbolc May Day was Beltaine Tuesday was Tyr's (Twi's) Day Wednesday was Woden's Day (Odin's) Day Thursday Was Thor's Day Friday was Freya's Day Saturday was Saturn's Day Sunday was the Sun's Day Monday was the Moon's Day
Now, with that being said, it is kind of eye opening is it not? It made it easier for the conversion from one set of belief's to another. And from where we are now, it worked. We are only now seeing a out of the closet emergence of the Old Ways. Especially at Samhain.
It is not to be feared. It is a time of the year when the veil between the living and the dead is thin, yes. But it is a time to honor the ancestors, and to feast with them, to release old hurts and animosities. To feel old loves to release tears unshed. It is a time of release. It is a time to HEAL!! If you allow yourself. Some people do not know this about Samhain. Not even people who walk the path sometimes see that. But it can be. True, it is deeply personal if you choose to release. BUTTTTTTTT...there is fun, laughter and all that comes along with the light of masks candy frights and chills....all in good fun....
So along the right side I have compile some info....and as it gets closer to Samhain...I MIGHT post the ritual I did back in 2008 that was a BIG TIME release for my coven and I back in the day...If I do...Ill modify it for personal use...so keep coming back...and checking for information...and Blessed Be!!!
